Moving Out
Last Day You Can Move Out
(refer to lease)
You must be completely moved out by 12:00 noon on the last day of your lease.
For the 2011/2012 leases:
Townhomes: May 3, 4
Apartments: May 4
For the 2012/2013 leases:
Townhomes: May 3, 4
Apartments: May 4
Fill out a change of address form and send it to the post office, or at www.USPS.com. Your mail will be returned to the sender(s) if this form is not submitted to the post office.
Utilities
- Arange for final billing and service cessation (provide forwarding address) for electric, (800) 477-5050, and gas, (800) 477-4747.
- DSL, Cable Television, Telephone service should be discontinued through Allendale Communications at (616) 895-9911.
Key Return
Turn in all keys (entrance and bedroom keys) and provide your
forwarding address to the Capmus View office. No deposit refunds will
be issued until all keys (yours and your roomates) are turned in. If
you have lost a key, notify the office and a charge will be assessed.
Damage Assessments, Cleaning, Replacement & Repair
- You should leave your unit in a condition like you received it, other than normal wear and tear.
- You are provided shower curtains and cutting boards, ice trays, etc. at
move-in; if these are missing, you will be charged for replacement. - Common charges for above normal wear & tear include:
- Carpet Stains
- Adhesive or holes in walls larger than push pin size (repainting charge)
- Garbage left in unit (including personal items left behind)
- Damaged Curtains, Blinds or Rods
- Marks on walls (Repainting charge)
- Burner Pans and Ovens that require scraping of burned-on food or replacement
- Pets - If you bring a pet into your unit for even one day, we will charge you a minimum of $200 for deodorizing
- Smoking - if you smoke in your unit, we will charge you a minimum of $200 for deodorizing
