Moving In

First Day You Can Move In
(refer to lease)

Coordinate the entire first month's rent for the unit with your roommates, it must be paid before anyone can move in. So if you are moving in before your roommates, make sure they have sent in their rent. Afterwards, you can move in on the day your lease commences.

For 2010/2011 Leases:
Townhouses: August 11, 13, 16

Apartments: August 16

Utilities

  • You or your roommate(s) will need to contact Consumers Energy prior to your move-in for electrical service at (800) 477-5050.  This must be done prior to move in (see lease Paragraph 11).
  • You or your roomate(s) will need to contact DTE Energy for gas service (heat, hot water) at (800) 477-4747. This must be done prior to move-in (see lease Paragraph 11).
  • DSL is included with all units at Campus View provided through Allendale Communications.
  • Cable Television (basic) is provided with all units at Campus View through Allendale Communications. You can upgrade your cable and pay for the difference between the cost of basic and the package you get. Call in advance if you would like upgraded service when you move in; due to a crush of students moving in, if you do not order in advance, it may take serveral days for service to be activated.
  • If you want to have a land line (telephone) for your unit, contact Allendale Communications at (616) 895-9911.

Parking

If you will have a car at Campus View, you must purchase a parking pass at the office, $50 for the entire year. Parking passes must be purchased by September 1. After September 1, passes cost $100 and your car could be towed.  Guests must have a visitor parking permit between 8am and 5pm weekdays (M-F).  These are available FREE at the office during our office hours.

Tenant Check-in

This is very important - you must complete your damage assessment form no more than one week after move-in. The damage assessment sheet is available online, here. Be sure to note all stains, marks, and other imperfections in your unit.

If the check-in sheet is not received within one week any such problems will be deemed to have occurred during your tenancy and charges will apply.
